cannon pix ip3000 printer offline

I moved the printer from my wifes computer to mine. It is hooked up to my
computer via usb. It works fine this way EXCEPT it will not print from my
wifes computer. Her computer in in the network but when I try to print from
it a get the message "printer is offline" I have done everthing I can think
of but to no avail. Her computer gets a strong signal for the home network.
