Can windows XP explorer show pcx thumbnails?

Is there any way to get Windows XP explorer to display
thumbnails of .pcx format images? It does this well for
other common image formats, but just uses a generic icon
for the pcx files. I already installed PhotoImpact, which
makes a file association to open pcx files, but still no
thumbnails for that format in windows explorer.

Only if you have MS Office or Word installed and have added the
optional PCX filter during the installation process.

Sorry - no. Being a third party affair, Windows does not come with a
'filter' to handle the thumbnail

Thanks for the replies. I do have Office XP with the pcx filter installed (checked, and reinstalled the whole set of image filters to be sure). This allows Office programs to open the files, but not to preview them as thumbnails (either in the Office import process or in XP explorer).
