Can system state be backed up over a network?

Hi:

I read that System State Backup does not work over a network; that is must
be backed up and restored
via a local device.
If that is true, then does that mean System State can only be backed up
via harddisk, tape, CD, or DVD?

I have a need to do a full System backup and File backup of multiple
servers,
but I don't want to get a tape drive for each server. I want to backup
entire systems 10+GB to a very large server. Can this be done?

Thanks,
Do

You can use NTBackup to backup the SystemState locally to a file, and then
backup that .BKF file, and other essential files on tape via the network.
