Can open a word doc keeps giving error

The Document name or path is not valid. Try these suggestions. Check the file
permissions for the document or drive. Use the file open dialog box to locate
the document. This is the file name A:\frieda case.rtf

I've tried all of these and it is still not working The only thing that get
me is wy it is a .RTF file and where did the .RTF come from. Can anyone help
me out please.

It would appear that you are trying to open a file saved on a floppy. Don't
ever try to open a file directly from a floppy. Copy it to the HD first and
open it from there. And don't ever save directly to a floppy, either.
Working from a floppy is one of the top three causes of document corruption.
