Can only access web as specific user

X-No-Archive:

I am sure there is a simple solution and I just don't see it but...

I can only access the wireless network connection (linksys) with login
name Clyde (Me).
Other users on this laptop cannot connect, even if they have have the
same priviledges as me (admin). It is not a networked system, but a
standalone laptop.

I have windows XP, IE. 6.0.2900. I just bought the laptop so there are
very few programs on it. (I have McAfee sercurity, firewall and
spamkiller. I deleted McAfee Privacy Service thinking it might be the
problem (it wasn't) All the McAfee settings are the default settings
it came with from Dell.

Any suggestions? My son wants to use his new laptop but we don't want
to give him admin priviledges (knows just enough to be dangerous, but
thinks he knows it all and isn't afraid to download and monkey with
files)

go to the limite account. first you need to find if the network conection is
enable... go to start - connect to - show all connections - check the
wireless network connection... if is disable right click and select enable.
if the connection is enable you need to created a profile of the wireless in
the wireless connection doble clic and the wireless network connection status
is going to open - hit the view wireless networks tab - you will see a
refresh network list opion click here... in few seconds your network should
be listed.. select the connection an hit connect

How new of a problem is this? Have other User Profiles ever been able to
access the 'net?

Once you get the problem resolved:

1. No one should be running *as* Administrator.
