Can not retrieve contact list

I recently purchased a new computer due to hard drive failure of my old one.
I still have the old drive and have access to it via an external HD<->USB
connection. I am trying to retrieve my Outlook data. I was able to get my
email and folders with no problems via opening the outlook.pst file. For the
life of me, I can not find out how to even access the contact folder, let
alone copy it to the new hard drive.

What am I doing wrong?

Your post makes no sense. All Outlook data is in the same PST file. State
what you did that brought you to this incorrect conclusion.
If you opened the correct data file, all your Outlook data would be there,
not just emails.
