Can I Dump old ME Installation Files after Upgrade to XP?

Windows ME was orignally installed on my system. While upgrading to XP I was
given the option, during the XP install, to keep the ME operating system
files, which I did. Now over a year later, I'm happy with XP, it's running
fine but I still have a whole lot of hard drive space taken up by those
dormant old ME install files.

These files are listed in Disc Cleanup and all I have to do is check a box
to reclaim acres of hard drive space. Am I asking for trouble by dumping
these old system files?

Thanks

Nothing will happen to your system if you opt to delete the ME files other
than you get the space back.

If it is listed Iwould do it from within Add or Remove Programs; if not,
then Disc Cleanup.

Add/Remove Programs?
You would?
Then you would end up with Windows ME as that option removes Windows
XP thus using the files instead of deleting them.

Disk Clean-up is the correct method of deleting the outdated Windows
ME files.

Definitely delete those files using Disk Clean-Up.
The only thing you will lose is the ability to return to Windows ME.
