Can auto text in work be transfered from one computer to antoher? Is it
stored in a file that can be easily moved?

Yes. AutoText entries usually are stored in Normal.dot. One way to transfer
AutoText entries would be to copy normal.dot to the other computer, giving
it a different name if the other computer already has customized settings in
normal.dot. Then, use Tools - Templates and Add-ins - Organizer - AutoText
tab to open the copied .dot file and then copy the desired entries to that
computer's local normal.dot.

See http://www.word.mvps.org/faqs/customization/AutoText.htm:

"AutoText entries are saved in Word templates (*.dot files); they cannot be
saved in regular documents (*.doc files). If you don't specify a different
location when creating an entry, it will be saved in the default global
template, Normal.dot. ... You can copy AutoText entries between templates
with the Organizer (Tools>Templates and Add-Ins>Organizer>AutoText)."

Make a blank new template. Use the Organizer to copy the autotext from
Normal.dot to the new template. Copy that template to the other PC. Use the
Organizer there to copy the autotext to its Normal.dot.

Also see http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/General/FilesToBackup.htm.

Yes. Autotext is stored in templates, in normal.dot by default. See
http://addbalance.com/word/movetotemplate.htm for step-by-step instructions
on moving / sharing / copying / backing-up customizations including
AutoText, AutoCorrect, keyboard assignments, toolbars, macros, etc.
