Bug: IE hangs during text search

IE 6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2_gdr.050301-1519

1. Display www.mudvillegazette.com/archives/2006_06.html
2. Search (Ctrl+F) for "aaa".

IE will then hang (100% CPU).

I can't agree that as a bug.

Strange, as I successfully asked two other people for reproduction before
posting. But thanks for trying!

Perhaps someone else might have a go at it...wouldn't know what else this
should depend on than the mere version.

I had no problem with
IE 6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2_gdr.050301-1519

But, IE6 SP1 6.0.2800.1106 locked up- not the first time that 6.0.2800.1106
has had a problem with XML / XHTML

I can verify this bug 'cause I'm having the same problem with my
6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2_gdr.050301-1519 version of Internet Explorer (on XP
Pro, SP 2) . When searching ZoneEdit's FAQ page at
http://www.zoneedit.com/doc/faq.html for a character string that isn't in the
page, e.g. foo, that instance of IE hangs and I have to kill it with the task
manager.

Third-party extensions. Try disabling or removing all BHO.
Either via the Advanced tab or using XPsp2's Manage Add-ons tool.
