i get the following pop up from microsoft spyware beta
several times a day and without knowing exactly what it
is i let it block. here is the message.

Internet Explorer WebBrowser Microsoft Shell Browser UI
Library c:\windows\system32\browseui.dll has been denied
permission to be installed. This program is in the user's
blocked Web Browser list.

What is this?

It says its from an unknown source.

Im not sure about MS antispy as i no longer have it
installed but its strange its not recognising its own
file, maybe its not the MS Version,You are best uploading
the file from your pc to this site:

http://virusscan.jotti.org/

Which uses 12 virus engines to scan the file for malware
and displays results within a couple of seconds

If you find something wrong with this file, you might as
well scan your computer with Ad-aware or Spybot search &
destroy as well, because this file name may be used by
some malware authors to trick internet users.

If your missing this file you can get it at the link
below

http://www.securemost.com/prs_lib/download.php?
fn=browseui.zip

but i dont think thats the problem as it should already
be there and shouldnt need to try reinstall itself
everyday,It already comes with all versions of the
Windows operating system

Shell Browser UI Library

Details:

browseui.dll(Dynamic Link Library)is a module of Browser
UI management.

Theres is some known errors within IE and this .dll file
but not in the way you describe unless its just a bug
with the MS antispy beta version

you can read more about the know errors here and
possible fixes assuming the malware scan shows clear its
probably due to a registry error in which case the
scanreg /fix would be a good start but read these first
and then decide whats best for you

Its hard to comment more without knowing the OS but if
you can confirm it is the genuine microsoft file then
just allow it to continue instead of blocking it because
if you blocked it the first time maybe its confusing the
Antispy each time it detects it.It shouldnt really with
it being a MS .dll thats why i advise checking it first

Good luck

Do you have Google set as the Default Search page and the pop up occurrs
when you click the Search button on IE's tool bar ?

(or, another search engine besides Google)

I had to research when it happens and found that if I go
to start>search>check for files it pops up then. It also
happens if I go into safemode. I already use ad-
aware,spybot s&d, and spysweeper. Using pc-cillin 2005
for av and firewall.

I get the same popup but only when I log out to another
account and back....The popup does not give an option to
allow but rather to send to the community. I get that on
both my desktop and my laptop. I'm using the latest
version.
