I was intending to switch from aol to earthlink and was
asked if I wanted to use earthlink as a default, I
answered yes. Havent switched yet but now I cant view
documents saved from the internet without being prompted
to log onto earthlink. I viewed the Internet properties
and aol is still the default browser.....Please help.

Internet Options> Programs. Check the box for IE to "check to see whether
it is the default browser." The next time you go online, open IE and say
Yes when it asks if it should be the default application. NOTE: If you have
SP1 installed, you could also set this up in the new Add/Remove Programs>
Set Program Access and Defaults> Browsers.

Over on Internet Options> Connections, check that the default connection is
the one that you want and that the style (never, automatic, etc) is set the
way you want. I use Never and initiate my own connections.

Now when you open web documents IE should open to display them. If the web
document doesn't contain an external call (for an ad or image), there
should be no attempt to make a connection either.
