browser maximization problem

I keep having a problem where my browser will not
maximize correctly. It doesn't happen all the time
though. When i max the window, it isn't full screen. It's
positioned about a quarter of an inch below the top of
the screen, and the status bar at the bottom is behind my
taskbar. This just started happening a couple of days ago
and, like i said, it doesn't happen all the time. Does
anyone know what is causeing this and how i can fix it?

From: http://www.fjsmjs.com/IE/offpos.htm

Symptom: IE opens a maximized window shifted down and to the right.

Remove any 'Auto-hide' option for the Windows taskbar and while the window
is maximized, resize the taskbar then return it to the desired size. This is
to try to make Windows re-calculate the window size and boundaries.

If no joy, run regedit and remove these registry key values:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\window_placement

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Desktop\OldWorkAreas\OldWorkAreaRects

Then reboot.
