Brother MFC 9070 connection to computer.

I have recently connected a Brother MFC 9070 Printer/FAX machine to me PC
using the USB interface. I have installed the drivers from the CD which came
with the printer but it shows up as an icon in my system tray as an
attachment, similar to a memory stick or a camera. My other printer and my
scanner, both HP, are installed properly as hardware using USB. I think I
must have missed a step somewhere in the Install Process but I can't figure
it out. Does anybody have any idea how to get it installed correctly so I
don't have to remove it each time before I switch off my PC.
