BROTHER MFC 7000FC and XP computer

I have a Brother MFC 7000FC. It is a color mult-function ink jet
printer.

I want to use it with a Dell Inspiron laptop which has Windows XP
operating system.

Two problems:

1. It appears there are no drivers for XP for the 7000FC.

Any tips, suggestions, workarounds?

2. The Inspiron does not have a printer cable jack that will accept
the printer cable used by the MFC 7000. The MFC does not have any USB
jacks.

Are there adapters out there so that I can connect the printer to the
laptop?

Workaround. I can locate some drivers, for example, a driver for the
Brother MFC 6000. Is that worth a shot assuming I can connect the
printer to the laptop?

Thanks in advance.

You might wish to check the URL below for similar XP drivers, or the
brother website URL also below.

You may need to ask Brother about which driver most closely exhibits
similar characteristics to the model you have since they do not show an
XP driver for the MFC-7000, and warn amount possible problems if trying
the Win2000.

There are centronics/or parallel to USB converter cables, not all are
created equal, and some work better than others.
