Hello, I updated the driver with a digitally signed cert imported. During the
updating, WinXP warns, "Installing this device deriver is not recommended
because Windows cannot verify that it is compatible with your hardware. If
the driver is not compatible, your hardware will not work correctly and your
computer might become unstable or stop working completely. Do you want to
continue installing this driver?" I clicked "yes" and the driver was copied
to folder:system32/drivers. The Broadcom network adapters fails to start
with a device status of Code10. There is a yellow exclamation mark ! at its
icon at the device manager. I tried to uninstalled/ reinstalled the adapter &
driver without any improvement. Please help!

Either try the driver rollback or do a System Restore to before you did
this.

Hi, I tried roll back and system restore. The results is the same: network
adaptor cannot start.

Go back to Device Manager click on View>Show Hidden Devices. Now expand
your network adapters category. You'll probably see a lot of "ghost"
NIC's. You need to uninstall them all. If you can't uninstall them from
Device Manager, you can remove their registry entries:

Hello
I discovered that Gateway support gave me a very old driver to
download. I dowloaded & installed a recent driver from broadcom hompage (4401
network adaptor) and there is no more conflict. Thx for all the help!
