Brightness in a fullscreen Program

My monitor is old, so it is very dark(the Contrast and the Brightness is all
the way up) and i am able to change the brightness via

Star->Control Panel->Apperances and themes->change screen
resolution->Advanced->Color Correction Tab

But whenever i run a program(preferably a game) that runs in full screen it
changes it back. Is there any way change the brightness without buying a new
monitor?
