Booting in safe mode

Lenie

Hi,
I am having a problem trying to get into safe mode, my keyboard up and down
arrows work fine when I am signed into windows, but when I try to use them
to boot into safe mode they will not move so I can't get in to any other
than normal start, can someone please tell me why this would be and is there
away to get into safe mode other then the arrow keys.

Thanks for any help
Lenie

USB keyboard I bet.

Look in the bios and see if you can enable USB legacy support
(assuming the keyboard will let you get there)

Check the NumLock button status.

You can go to safe mode via the msconfig utility. However does your computer
expertise justify "messing" with msconfig - evidently the computer boots
normally - why is it necessary to go to safe mode?

To run anti-virus and anti-spyware software. In some circumstances to
run Disk Defragmenter. To delete files, which cannot be deleted in
normal mode because they are in use. There probably many occasions
when it helps.

Hope this helps.
