Boot failure svchost.exe/msntlsapi.dll causes reboot

This is driving me nuts.

Today, I rebooted and started getting the following error message:

Generic Host Process for Win32 Services has encountered a problem and needs
to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

All teh standard junk, then on the more details page, the error sig is

szAppName : svchost.exe szAppVer : 5.1.2600.2180

szModName : mstlsapi.dll szModVer : 5.1.2600.2180 offset : 0000756a

Every time I hit "send", Windows reboots.

I've scanned using AdAware, ETrust, SpyBot S&D, ewido, CCleaner, Registry
Mechanic, (and Spywareblaster is always resident).

A month or so ago, this happend and I was able to fix it by deleting my VPN
connections and RDP connections and then re-creating them.

That did not work this time. (note: every windows update patch has been
applied).

Any help would be most appreciated.
