repdrvfs.dll / WMI Issues

Hi-
I do not know when the error first occurred, but apparently it has been
happening for some time. I am running XP Home SP2 Build2600. A few minutes
after logging into my account I get an error that states “Generic Host
Process for Win32 Services†must shut down with the following information –
szAppName : svchost.exe szAppVer : 5.1.2600.2180
szModName : repdrvfs.dll szModVer : 5.1.2600.2180 offset : 00019bfe
Typically, the Internet connection crashes before I am able to send the
error report, but I have had success and I am directed to KB article 894391.
I have downloaded and installed the KB 894.91-x86-ENU.exe hotfix, but I
continue to get the error message after multiple reboots. Next, I tried
troubleshooting with msconfig. It appears that the problem is with the
Windows Management Instrumentation service. I can load everything else
without getting the error message. I am unsure what to do next. Is the
error consistent with WMI problems? Should I use the WMI Diagnosis Utility?
Am I barking up the wrong tree so to speak? I greatly appreciate any help or
advice.
