Blocking issue with Microsoft Shared Fax Client

Al Ruch

I'm upgrading from 98SE to XP Home Edition. Had problems
getting XP to recognize my Creative PCI v.92 modem so I
uninstalled XP. Installed modem under 98 and it is
recognized. Attempting to install XP and now I get a
Blocking Issue referring to a Microsoft Shared Fax
Client. The Add/Remove programs does not show that I have
it installed and I can't get rid of the error. Installed
awfax.exe from 98 CD and uninstalled in hopes things would
be cleaned up. It didn't. What is XP finding that it
finds objectionable and how do I get rid of it?

If you have a version of Microsoft Office installed, you need to
uninstall it. Make sure you perform a backup of your data, first.
