blank black screen

I have this users pc when it boots and gets to the point after the xp screen
with the bar that goes across the screen the screen goes blank and black with
just the mouse working. I have searched and tried a few things and nothing
has worked, it does the same thing in safe mode. I have booted into recovery
console and did a fixboot and then a fixmbr. I have tried a BootCfg /Rebuild
that did not work.

Try mounting the drive in another system and delete pagefile.sys and
hiberfil.sys. Put it back and restart.

This sometimes helps with problems like this.

i deleted these 2 files and it still does not work. i also copied the
explorer.exe file from another computer and put it on the problem computer
and that did not work either.
