Just downloaded & instaled Bitdefender 9.It appears to be what I'v
been looking for but need a few answers from someone that has used it
for a while.
I quit using outlook express a good while back (because the popups
were so bad I couldn't stand it ) and went to Fort Agent (haven't had
a popup since) & BD doesn't appear to work with it so i'm wondering if
I go back to usuing OE that BD will take care of the popups.Anything
else you might tell rhat will be helpful will be appreciated.
Thanks

How do you get popups in Outlook Express? Maybe you should look at the
security settings in the IE/OE options.

I have a license for Bitdefender 9, but have quit using it. It is a
very chatty program and it caused more than its share of crashes
during scans.

Today I use NOD32, which is arguably the best anti-virus program on
the planet. It has never caused a crash and it catches everything.

If you want to stop pop-ups, then I would suggest using either
Firefox or Opera. I have both installed on my system and they both
work very well.

Using IE is just asking for trouble.

I substituted Agent for OE also and am using BD8 free. It sounds like
you are also a candidate for Firefox, a great substitute for IE. I'm
using FF1.5.0.1

Some of Firefox's features:

Tabbed Browsing: Instead of opening a separate browser window for each
site you want to visit, you can open multiple sites within the same
window and tab between them. You can also set a group of tabs as your
home page. For more information see Tabbed Browsing.

Pop-up Window Controls: Lets you allow or suppress both popup and
popunder windows.

Cookie Manager: Lets you change what Firefox will do when accepting
cookies.

Download Manager: Organizes your downloads by storing them in a single
window to minimize clutter. You have full access to download statistics
without using unnecessary multiple windows for each download.

Image Manager: Enables you to disable images from certain web sites or
disable them altogether. This is useful if you wish to decrease the
amount of time it takes for web sites to load.
