Birthdays do not appear in the display tab

Why do the birthdays disappear on the display tab. I try to find peoples
birthday and can't seem to locate them. They still show up in calendar view.
Im using OL.2007 vista. Can this be the way the program is ? Thanks much for
any comment on this.

Yes, I sync with a blackberry. So you say that is the reason birthday dates
don't appear in the display tab? Is there a way to have the birthday dates
appear since you say they are not deleted, even though the value in the field
went to "none". Thank you kindly for your help.

Do you sync with a handheld device? That is the usual cause of things like
this. The calendar item is separate from the contact and is not deleted
when the field is set to 'none'.

The contact was edited at some point to remove the birthdates - most likely
during a sync. The only way to get the dates back is by adding them back
yourself. There is not an automated process. (If you have a backup you can
copy the contacts from it.)

When you create a contact and add a birthday, outlook creates the event on
the calendar. This calendar event is not deleted when the birthday is
deleted from the contact.

Thank You for the help: One more ? Is there a way to edit (overide) the
format for the way the dates appear for birthdays on the display page? for
instance date of birth is 09/04/1956. It appears as "September 04, 1956" too
wide for my columns when I print lists. I would like it to be
09/04/1956.Thank you again
