Importing Contacts-Birthdays not on Calendar

I am importing a contact folder (MS Outlook 2000-2) (.pst
or from excell). All contacts and all fields are imported
perfectly. The birthday field is imported also. BUT it
does not post it on the calendar. Why ? How can i fix
this ? How can I make outlook go through all contacts and
post the birthdays on the calendar as recurring events.
Shouldnt it be done automatically ? is there a bug ? a
fix ?

THis is normal behavior. If you edit the birth date then save the contact, you should get a calendar item.
