Batch Normalize Mp3s

Is there a freeware program that will batch normalize a folder of Mp3s?

I tried MP3 Workshop which dosn't do it.

I am using MP3 Trim which is fine, but does only one at a time,
and takes forver for a big batch.

Do you mean normalizing the volume ? Well, that does take a long time with
all programs, 'cause first the volume of all MP3's have to be analized
before they can be changed. Anyway, I recommend MP3gain from:

MP3Gain does not just do peak normalization, as many normalizers do.
Instead, it does some statistical analysis to determine how loud the file
actually sounds to the human ear.
Also, the changes MP3Gain makes are completely lossless. There is no quality
lost in the change because the program adjusts the mp3 file directly,
without decoding and re-encoding.

I use MP3 Gain religiously on every single MP3. It is a good progem
(but be aware a huge batch will take a bit of time to analyze, which
would be true with ANY program).

The nice thing is some mp3's, even after treating are too low (or
occasionally too loud). MP3 Gain has the facility to adjust to taste
(for instance, often mono needs a bit more gain than the program gives
it compared to stereo).

Hi Rod and Mister Charlie

The time complaint was not about the normalizing processing time.
It was the Open Browse Select Normalize WaitForNormalize and Save click
time.

Mp3gain was a great suggestion.
Easy and good.

Of course it does. You have to queue the files first. I use MP3Gain now,
but used MP3 Workshop for 2 years.

I know it will normalize when creating files.
And, perhaps it will normalize previously created files;
I didn't find the way.

now, but used MP3 Workshop for 2 years.
