Bad IE6 Install - so, is there a way to safely REINSTALL IE6?

B

Bill

I had a bad crash a few months back & had to restore from backup. I've got
some system problems (I'm fairly sure I'm missing a system file or two) &
long story short, I want to re-install IE6 (detect & repair can't help).

What's the safest way to do this - do I download the full setup, or can I
use the IE6 installer? Should I uninstall IE6, as well as the previous
version, before doing this?

My system is Win98SE, 320M RAM, PIII/650. I've got the latest IE6 with the
google toolbar.

The second method works on Win98.

Thanks, Frank. Just to make sure I understand, you're saying edit the
registry key as described, and then run the IE6 installer?

-Bill.

Yep.
