Background colors & page load

Something odd happened last night. I was working on my
vBulletin 3 site, modifying a style's .css. Shortly
thereafter, to browse around w/o any colors at all, I did
exactly what I always do:

Internet Options - Accessibility - clicked Ignore Colors
on Web Pages (it was the ONLY checked box on this tab).
I then went to: Internet Options - Colors - clicked Use
Windows Colors. (light gray was the font color, black
was the background color).

Problem: These black/grey colors (for background and
font respectively) appear on black pages, but not on any
web site pages. This is the FIRST time this has ever
happened. For years I've browsed around the net w/ a
black background and light gray font because too many
colors causes my eyes discomfort at time.

No site will show a black background. Some places, font
will appear gray. I'm more concerned about the
background.

Problem #2. Now, in the vBulletin control panel, it
takes FOREVER to load. This is the ONLY page (thus) far
that takes this long to load (5 mins or so on a fast
cable conx). Normally, I'd think this was a vb issue.
However, other computers in my house pull up the vb
control panel like they always have, very quickly, no
problem.

Something different happened to this computer last night,
and I don't know what, nor how to fix it. Also, I tried
system restore...that didn't work either.

Please help.

Thank you.

Forget the 2nd part of the question. I think vb team can
help w/ that.

But what about the background color issue?
