Backed up "file.pst" does not Import and Restore

R

I backed up OE and Outlook and burned it to a CD.

The Outlook file is called "file.pst".

When I go to Import on a notebook, it says the "file.pst" file is not a
personal folder file.

What do I need to do?

Copy pst to HD, turn off read only flag.
In OL File>Open>Data File..........browse to location of the pst

I tried and followed your instructions exactly. There was NOTHING checked
for Read Only under Properties.

I opened Outlook and did exactly as suggested.

An error window comes up saying "it is not a personal data file"

Then the most likely problem is that you burned the file to the CD while
Outlook was open. That damages the file irrecoverably. There is some
anecdotal evidence that some CD burning software doesn't handle PSTs well.
