AVI files play audio but not video during slide show

I am creating a big slide show consisting of photographs and I want to link 2
to 4 film clips that have been saved as RealPlayer AVI files. When I import
the movie files and select "automatically play" I can hear the audio but the
video does not show up. Is there any way to fix this?

thank you

There's a good chance this is a path length to the avi file problem . Try
putting the avi and the ppt presentation into the same folder and then
REINSERT the video.

Just a suggestion, give either PFCMedia or PFCPro a try. The trial is two
weeks and is fully functional. (Your presentations will still work after
the trial ends so it costs you nothing to try them.)

Hi Austin,

Thanks for the reply. I didn't try those because when I went to the
PFCMedia
site and read about them, it seemed to me that they primarily addressed
the
issue of portability of PPT files, e.g., making sure that a presentation
with
.avi files hyperlinked within it that was created on one PC would work on
a
different one. Since that is not my issue I didn't see how either of those
would help.

They do a fair bit more. Most importantly they process the media into a
standard Windows format (wmv and wma) that is supported by codecs native to
Windows/PPT.

You may also want to look at PFCExpress (which is included in PFCPro) as it
removes the dependency on the links to the media. If you use PFCExpress use
the "Save to zip" feature. You can then unzip the file to any location
(even a server) and the files should play as expected.
