Autoplay will not recognize photo and.....

I have a sandisk sddr-31 memory card reader. It used to
autoplay everything and now it will not autoplay for
pictures. I have checked the autoplay settings for pitures
(prompt me what to do) but it automatically opens the
folder to view files. In conjuction with this, it will
allow to select the file to email but it will not prompt to
make files smaller. The Camera is a Canon G2>

Any suggestions.

I believe it is an windows update that did this.

In your case, connect the memory card reader with a memory card in it and
pictures on the memory card.

II. Click on Start, click on Run and type the following in the textbox:
REGSVR32 SHIMGVW.DLL
and press Enter
Note that there is a space between ...32 and SHI...
This will take a few seconds to run.

In your case, this will repair the e-mail resizing function.

III. Go to the following site:
http://www.bigblackglasses.com/staff/downloads/autofix.exe

and download the autofix.exe file in one of your folder. Once done, double
click on this file. A window will open. Follow the directions on the screen.

Once done, reboot.

hmmmm indeed!
When you try to copy pictures, what do you get?
Error message? Nothing happens?
Try something else.
Instead of using the card reader, connect your camera via the USB cable. The
Autoplay window should open. See if you can copy from there with the wizard.
I am not familiar with Canon. However, your camera probably came with some
Canon software. With your camera connected to your computer (or the card
reader), start the Canon software, Click on File on the top bar. On the
opening menu, there should be an item "Acquire image". Click on it and see
if you can download the pictures from there.

It will work on my camera....transfers fine....but not
from my sandisk. From the sandisk, it will do all but
the transfer to computer part.

No error message, just, nothing.....hmmmm

Good. It is supposed to work with your camera.
I don't know anything about card readers, except that they should work just
as well as your camera and maybe transfer faster. Maybe somebody can help
further.
