Autofix

Hoping somebody has an answer?

Connecting my camera to the computer with a USB cord, turning the camera on,
camera appears in My Computer as a camera image, no drive letter. Camera #1
Kodak DX3500, Camera #2 Nikon 8700. Neither camera has a tab in properties
for AutoPlay, only General, Events, Color Management. Downloaded AutoFix
from MS download site but trying to do a fix neither camera will appear in
selection list for AutoFix. Turning cameras off and on does not help.

So I am not confusing somebody both cameras are not turned at the same time.
Just using either camera has the same problem.

Hello Stan,

A couple of things. First, what version of Windows do you have and what
Service Pack (if any)? Second, here is something to try... click Start,
Run and type SERVICES.MSC, hit Enter or OK. Find "Shell Hardware Detection"
and make sure this service is Started and set to Automatic. If it wasn't,
change it to Automatic, reboot, and connect a camera again.

Let us know how that goes.

Thanks,
