AutoComplete

MaryAnn

When I type in email address of recipient, my autocomplete function does not
fill in the field. How do I get program to search my address book (email
field) as I type. Thank you. I'm using Office Professional 2007.

Autocomplete is a cache of recently used email addresses. It does NOT look
in any folder or address book. This is a common misconception.

Ctrl K will check names for you in your address books.

Once you send an email to a person once, the autocompletion will keep their
name at the ready for you and complete it as you type.

I'm having the same problem as well. Is there some other settings in Outlook
2007 that would make the autocomplete work?

What indication do you have that it's not working? Did you enable it in
Tools>Options? Autocompletion does not reference your COntacts in any way.
It simply remembers the mail addresses you've entered in the To/Cc/Bcc
fields.
