Audio in playback is distorted

I downloaded WMM2 from Microsoft site. On completing movie audio plays fine in preview screen. but once saved, the audio when played on WMedia player 9 is distorted. Makes no difference by adding transisitions or effects.PLease help.

Hi there,

There is a chance your original recording was done at 12bit instead of 16.
You may need to strip the audio, re-sample it and then re-combine with the
video.

Thanks for that. I hate to show my ignorance but how do I check this or alter it. I am pretty new to computers and don't understand some of the jargon!!!!
