attaching word documents

The fact that a word document must be closed down before being attached is
very valuable information. I have been struggling with this problem and now
it is solved. Thank you to the user community!
Another interesting point about Vista home basic and ms office home and
student 2007 is that you cannot send pictures to windows mail from Picture
Manager. You can only attach from windows mail. To send pics you have to
purchase Outlook - this does not come standard with home and student 2007.

In order to email pictures from Picture Manager, try this:
Open the Default Programs applet, which you can access either from
the Start menu or via the Control Panel, then click the first item:
"Set your default programs."
After a few seconds, a list of programs comes up. Click on "Windows
Mail". If it doesn't respond with "This program has all its defaults"
then fix it by clicking on the option indicated by the first green arrow.
