Windows Mail and Microsoft Word

I have the Microsoft Office Home and Student edition which does not include
Outlook. When I make a Word document, there is no option to email it. It
needs Outlook to email it directly. I can attach it using Windows Mail. but
when I hit send, it tells me some files could not be found. Have searched
Knowledge Base, but can't find a definitive answer. Can I get Outlook to put
on my new machine? Sandy

Yes, versions from 2003 to the present run on Vista. Even version 2002
runs with a few problems.

Have you tried closing the Word document in all programs, then starting
to create a Windows Mail outgoing message, then clicking on the
paperclip to attach a file, and then telling it the Word document file
is the one you want attached?

Strangely enough, I tried it again and it worked, but I really need to be
able to create Word Documents with photos and email them directly to the
recipient. I guess I just screwed up when I got the edition that did not
contain Outlook. Will I have to buy Outlook or is it available for download?
Thanks for your help. Sandy

Beatty, hello, I have exactly the same situation as you and used to send word
docs direct with such ease with Word 2003. Have you found a solution to the
problem? I just got Vista and feel pretty lost and sending docs that way is
something I do all the time. thanks for your help, Dominique

If you want to send them with Windows Mail, instead of installing Outlook,
you'll have to close the docs in all other programs first.

Dom, you didn't tell us anything about your setup, whether you have
Word or Outlook, and if so, which version.

Anyway, you can attach the Word file to a Windows Mail message.
