Attaching file in Outlook Express causes program shutdown

Can anyone help with this?

I use Outlook Express as my normal email program. Sending and receiving
emails works fine, but if I attempt to attach a file, after I hit the
paperclip icon it begins to open a new screen using Windows Explorer, then
immediately both that screen and my Outlook Express program and screen shuts
down. The email isn't sent, nor sent to the draft folder, it just quits.

I'm able to attach and send files using my yahoo mail account, but this is a
hassle as I'd like people to be able to respond directly to my main account.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

Outlook Express is supported on the IE groups, not Mail, which is actually
Windows Mail as installed with Vista
