ASUS P4S8x-x runs slow

Hi All,

The other PC here is the P4S8x-x.

(2.4 GHZ - 533 mhz CPU)

For some reason, it's slow as hell, when loading
programs (there's like a 2-3 sec wait), before it decides
to do something sometimes.

I'm not too sure if it's coz its SIS-based. BUT it
hasn't been as slow as this before.

It doesn't have spyware/Adware/viruses, or trojans
slowing it down. I've scanned, and its clean.

The only reason, I can think of why it's so slow
is, either its an MS update, or it's coz I'm using
DDR 400 ram (1GB).

(Or coz it's SIS-based).

Which according to the ASUS manual, and site,
it doesn't really support - It states on the site, don't run
it at 200 mhz (It's on AUTO in the BIOS).

BUT it was fine as, when I first installed XP
on it (SP2 is also installed).

Anyone else here, have the same mobo, and having
the same probs (being slow), and managed to speed
it up at all?? Or do you think I should change the mobo
to an Intel based chipset??

Maybe this thread can explain it:

The problem was AVG virus scanner.
