Are there any TV show recorders...

that will let me schedule recordings and use TV-on-demand feature from
the real-time recordings. Bascially, I want it to be like TiVo. Or is
this limited in all software recorders?

If I understand your question correctly then ATI Multimedia Center does what
you're asking, as do many of the third-party products.

The only place where there's any difficulty is with software decoding of HD
broadcast--there you can record or pause but at the moment the available
software doesn't seem to allow both. I believe that the hardware HD
decoders can do both.

Hi J.,

I do not see the option to use TV-On-Demand during schedule recordings.
Basically, I want to be able to rewind, pause, and fast forward when
recording scheduled TV shows.

Example: Recording The Simpsons, and I am back because I just got home
a few minutes late. I can tell my computer to go back to the beginning,
skip commercials, etc. and be able to catch up my live broadcast.

Is this possible in any programs or did I miss an option? I am using
ATI MMC v8.8 at the moment.
