Archiving errors

The error message I receive is

"Archive skips store due to error. Failed to open a
source store."

Does anyone know what causes this to happen? The version
is Outlook 2000 being run on Windows 2000.

It is likely that a PST attached to your profile is
causing the error. Bring up the folder list from the
View menu, right-click on a PST and choose "Close <PST
Name>." After that, close and restart Outlook. If
Archive still fails after that, repeat with another PST
and so on until you find the one causing the problem.

A possible explanation for this is that you have a PST
located on a server and network conditions at the time
causes the PST to stop responding causing Outlook to
disassociate the PST ultimately causing the error.
Another possible explanation is that a PST attached to
your profile is in use by another process, causing the
same symptoms.
