Archive Outlook 2003

When I do an Archive on my Outlook 2003 and then open it after the
archiving, my inbox and all its' subfolders are empty. Yet, archiving
says it is working.
I would also like to know how to reset all the settings back to their
default condition and is it possible to do it at one time with out
uninstalling and then reinstalling them?

Thanks for any help.

What am I missing here!?

ARCHIVING means saving stuff to a DIFFERENT AREA.

Archiving works on the modified date
Also check your archive settings to ensure it is archiving to the 'correct'
archive that you have open

I had deleted all previous archives. There for when I did the new
archive, the only one on the system, all folders where there, but no
emails!
If I still haven't explained myself, please let me know. I have done
archiving in the past with no problem. This system just happened to
have bombed on me with other programs going bad.
Thanks for the help.

Thus deleting any of the data they contained.

Again, read what DL said. Examine the Modified date on the items in your
default folders. They're probably more recent than your archive interval.

All archive folders and data was deleted with the exception of what
was in the current folders. When you looked into the directory that
held the archive folders it was totally empty. And yes, I had the
folder settings sets to show all hidden.

When I did a manual archive, and then opened the archive folder....
the folders were empty.

I'm still waiting for you to examine the Modified dates on the items in your
DEFAULT folders. archiving won't archive items whose Modified date is more
recent that the archive date you've chosen. Archiving will always create
the folder structure, but it won't copy any items if they're too new.

Brian, Uncle Gurmpy,

Now that the tow truck is on its way to help undo a rectal cranial
inversion, I went back and looked at the modified dates and realize it
was set to collect for the months that I had lost everything, saying
there was nothing there to archive.
Thank you for the booster bump to see the light.
