AUTOMATIC UPDATE PROBLEMS

If your update...

HANGS AT 0% DOWNLOADED
Turn off automatic updates, restart your computer
visit this website, and follow the directions for
firewall and Auto-Update Set-up.
http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/protect/default.a
spx
Go back to firewall settings and select the
'Notify me but don't automatically downl...'.
Restart again, and when the notification comes
up, click download. The process will begin
when the update is available.

WON'T DO ANYTHING AFTER SELECTING DOWNLOAD.
Be patient. You will get the update, just maybe not
that day. I waited 5 days for mine to Download

I HOPE THIS HELPS TO ANYONE HAVING PROBLEMS. THIS IS WHAT
I DID TO GET MY AU WORKING.

Screw Auto Update. MS is just trying to cheap out on providing enough
bandwidth by getting people to use it.

If you don't want to wait for MS to give it to you, then take it from them
and do it yourself.

Download the IT install of SP2.
