anyone know anything about pop3 by proxy

my cable provider has changed their server and as a result i cant access my
email via pop3 (my email is via 3rd party site)

i couldn't even access the website (www.beeb.net) with explorer

anyhow until it gets sorted out - i am using a proxy server for i/explorer
(195.188.243.2 port 8080) - this works fine & as a result i can now access
the site via browser

but i still cant recieve my email (pop3 via outlook express)

i assumed O/Express would use the same proxy as internet explorer

any suggestions or maybe i have forgotten something?

thanx

The IE3 Internet Mail and News and the Outlook Express have no direct support for proxies.
You'll need to run a proxy client on the user PC. This intercepts TCP/IP traffic and
routes it through the proxy server. (The proxy settings in IE only apply to IE.)

SocksCap allows IE3 Internet Mail and News and Outlook Express to use a SOCKS proxy.
