IE7 problem with proxy

I run a proxy service to filter Internet Access and I have a few customers
that are having problems getting to a few websites with their proxy enabled.
Using Firefox with the proxy enabled works fine on the same websites. With
IE7 uninstalled IE 6 works through our proxy just fine. Reinstalling IE7
gives the same result - some pages do not open.

I have reproduced the same problem on
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pacific_Daylight_Time and many other wikipedia
sites. This site gives us most problems. With the proxy enabled on XP home
with IE7 I get "Internet Explorer cannot display the web page". Yet with the
same proxy enabled on Firefox I get the page.

With no proxy the page will open in IE7. But with the proxy set manually no
such luck. Also, searching the logs on the proxy server shows no request
from the computer ip address when using IE7 and a request using Firefox.

Please let me know if this is a bug and you are working on it or have
resolved it and you have a patch for me and my users. If you would like more
information please let me know. My only resolution so far is to recommend
Firefox.
