Anti-cat keyboard lock

Our new cat can't type properly yet and tends to pound
too many keys at once. The system doesn't like it. Nor do
I. Is there some easy way that I can secure (disable) the
kb when I get up and walk away for a bit, with an easy
unlock code/function when I return (that the cat would
not crack)? I don't really want to use Standby, I would
prefer something that simply freezes the keyboard without
impacting anything else.
Thanks
