MS Digital Media Keyboard problem

Hi - this keyboard is giving me some problems. Whenever I
try to use the PS/2 adapter that came with it, the
keyboard will not type anything, nor will the fuction keys
work. Also, the mouse will lock up when I press a key.
If I take out the PS/2 adapter and use the USB only, it
works. I would prefer not using the USB port at this
time, since there are USB problems with this computer.

I have updated the drivers to IntelliType 5.2 from
Microsoft, but no change. I have an old PS/2 keyboard
that works fine, so I know its not the port that is giving
me the problem. Anyone have any ideas as to what I should
do to get this working?

So no one else has had this problem, or there is no
solution? (I also meant to add, the PS/2 worked when I
tried going into the BIOS - it was only when it loaded
Win2k did it fail to work - fresh install too)
