When trying to reinstall Microsoft Office Visio Standard 2003, under XP-HE,
SP2, I get an error message:
"The Operating System is not presently configured to run this application."

It was installed on this same PC, from the same XP-HE CD and SP's before,
and it worked fine. Not Now! [HD had to be formatted and applications
reinstalled; all work fine except Visio.]

Visio had also been upgraded with SP2 and the product ID from that upgrade
was:
72090-640-7994596-55460
but when I enter this into the Product ID box, on the MS Support page, it
says it is invalid, even though that is what I am reading from the "About
Microsoft Office Visio" screen-print that I made when I installed the service
patch.

I've tried to reinstall Visio 2003 from the original CD, but somehow the COA
has been lost or misplaced so I don't have the Product ID that matches that
of the CD.

But, that doesn't explain the error message.

Is the problem with XP or something relating to Visio?

The MS Support page poses some questions and the Answers to those are:

What are you trying to do? Described above
How are you trying to do it? Described above
What is happening as a result? Described above
How often is this problem happening? Always; every time I've tried.
Does the problem involve any server products (for example, Windows Server
2003, SQL Server, Exchange Server)? No
Is your computer on a network with more than 10 computers? No; wireless home
net-work of 4 computers.

I don't really see why I should have to pay MS for this type of service
request, since it is not something I caused and, despite having spent a
couple hours searching the MS "self-help" files, is not something I can
figure out how to fix. So, I am hoping one of you may be able to help me with
this problem.

Thanks for any advice you can provide.
