animation okay but static images can't view

Running XP media center w/ sp2. Can't view static images. Animated images
okay. Specifically on cnn.com, my home page. If I use the control key,
sometimes I can get images. If I do, then the next pages might show the first
image in an article, but I can't view subsequent images offered. There is no
Red X shown, just a redistributed page minus the static graphics.

I have the same problem, I also use Cnn.com as a homepage. Sometimes, if I
go out of CNN to the next page and come back the image is not there anymore.
Does this have to do with XP with sp2? I tried also other pages and some
have images all the time and others don't. The X instead of the image does
not appear. Does anybody else have the same problem and have any idea what
causes it?

Yes, same here. If I close out IE, then open it again, I'll get the first
image. However, if I go to a link in news, the image(s) will not show. I get
the "Next" and "previous" image links and the browser acts like it's
displaying, but no image. The page is just re-adjusted as tho it's there.
There are no Red X buttons as other posts have mentioned. Sometimes I can go
back and there are the catagory header graphics shown such as U.S., World,
Technology, but once I leave and read something, when I go back, the graphics
vanish. This happens when using the back button OR the home button OR
refresh. Only when I close out completely I can get the main home page
picture, then it's the same thing again from there.

I don't know the answer to this, so I'm hoping that we'll get some response.

Solution! It's the McAffee Privacy Service! I disabled it and all images
are displayed! Hope this helps!

I wonder why because I've had the McAfee privacy service and XP for over a
year now and I have never had this problem. It showed up all of a sudden.
I'll try and disable it and see. Thanks for the tip!

I just tried and it works for me as well. I tried with another website I had
constant problems with and you are right, it finally works. I still wonder
why I had never had this problem before. Could it be an incompatibility with
XP sp2 and McAfee Privacy Service? That's up to MS to determine. I'll send
an email to McAfee and perhaps let them figure it out. Thanks again! :)
