When using Explorer6.2 to download a pictures or photos
from a web site, the Save_As file format is always listed
as a Bitmap File (.bmp), although the orginal picture
format was a Jepg. The same web page in the past when
Saved_As utilized jpeg. Operating system is Windows-xp
Home edition.

If Explorer is deleted and reinstalled, than the Save AS
format is a Jpeg. This last for a period of time than the
system goes back to the Bit Maped format.

How can the software be set for Jpeg Format easily?

Hi Pm1121,

Please try the following KB article to see if it corrects your issue.

I was having this problem also - it seems to help if you
delete your temporary internet files - tools/internet
options/general tab.

Right clicking on the image > Edit will open it in MSPaint instead of the
Windows Picture and Fax Viewer. Then you can manipulate and save it in
various file formats. Is that what you were asking?
