Agents Not Active

J

Jim

I have installed the latest version of MS Antispyware
(1.0.614) on a Dell laptop. It installed without any
problems but when I look at the status of the real-time
agents all of them are listed as inactive.

If I click on "Activate" for each of the categories of
agents nothing happens.

I have deinstalled, removed everything in the MS
Antispyware folder, cleaned the registry, rebooted and
reinstalled with exactly the same results.

I am running MS Antispyware on two desktops with no
problems, all of the agents are active.

Any help would be appreciated.

From Bill Sanderson:
As I recall the update install fixes this issue--control panel, add or
remove programs, Microsoft Antispyware, Change.

However, since there's a new build .614 available since June 24th, I'd
recommend going here:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...A2-6A57-4C57-A8BD-DBF62EDA9671&displaylang=en

and getting that build. Try an upgrade and see if that fixes the agents--it
may well not, because it probably tries to leave the current settings in
place. If it doesn't try the remedy in the first paragraph, but with the
new build.

Thanks for the reply. I already have the .614 build and
have already tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it as
mentioned in my initial note. Nothing seems to work.

Jim, having the same situation here! I command the agents
to activate, which they do, but as soon as I check there
status, they are disabled yet again! Anyone have any info
on this?
