Administrator password error

Russ

I went to log on to my XP home edition and I received an
error message stating that the file
\windows\system\vagoem.fon was missing or corrupted and
that I should use the Windows SetUp CD to fix it. When I
use the disk and get in to the system recovery console and
select the "repair" option, it asks me for my
administrator password, but when I type in the correct
pass word it says it is invalid(The XP help site says this
is likely due to DELL using sysprep.exe when they
installed it which can change the characters of the
adminstrator password) So the site tells me it happens but
does not tell what to do. i cannot log into XP and use the
fixes that way (not being able to log in is the MAIN
problem). So any thoughts on how I can use the Repair
function on the Recovery console without being able to
enter the correct Administrative password???
